Does it seem sort of ironic that after spending all of 2006 accusing Republicans of having a "culture of corruption" that she nominates Alcee Hastings for the chairmanship of the House Intelligence committee.
In case you don't remember, Hastings a former judge he was impeached in 1989 for bribery, becoming the sixth judge in American history to be impeached by Congress--Pelosi, a member of the House at the time, even voted for his impeachment.
Now here we are, 17 years later and Pelosi is nominating Hastings for a chairmanship of an important committee. Does this seem wrong to anybody but me? Perhaps Pelosi has a short memory do you think she does not remember voting to impeach Hastings?
Nominating Hastings was wrong but it seems that Pelosi thinks it more important to pay off her political cronies than to do what is in the best interest of her constituents and now with her new role as Speaker of the House what is right for the America.
